Recycle Your Bicycle for A Kid In Foster Care

For the past eight years, Recycle Your Bicycle has been giving ‘first bike’ memories to children in foster care across the state.  Beginning in September, this all volunteer organization begins collecting gently used bikes at Earnhardt dealerships across Maricopa County.  According to RYB coordinator, Joe Jacober, “the only thing we can’t fix is rust.”  Then,  in October, hundreds of volunteers go to work fixing brakes and gears, changing tires, replacing seats and detailing each bike to look ‘like new’ for the child who will be receiving the bike.  In mid-December, volunteers roll out hundreds of bikes for the holidays for children in foster care.  We hope you’ll join us in making these happy holiday memories.  Recycle Your Bicycle seeks donations of gently used bikes, volunteers to help repair and shine them up to look like new, and donations to pay for parts, tires, and tubes.  Learn more about drop off locations, and volunteer and donation opportunities at
