Both Horizon High School and Pinnacle High School have made the U.S. News & World Report 2016 Best High School list and The Washington Post Most Challenging High School list.

Pinnacle High School

  • U.S. News & World Report – ranked No. 18 in Arizona and No. 1531 nationally. Silver Medal Award recipient.

  •  The Washington Post – ranked No. 13 in Arizona and No.1318 nationally.

Horizon High School

  • U.S. News & World Report – ranked No. 33 in Arizona and No. 2212 nationally. Silver Medal Award recipient.

  • The Washington Post – ranked No. 20 in the state and No. 2208 nationally.

According to U.S. News & World Report, more than 21,000 public high schools in the United States and the District of Columbia are awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college. According to The Washington Post, schools are ranked through an index formula — the number college-level tests given at the school during the previous calendar year divided by the number of graduates that year.
