Our Lifestyles Coordinator left for a new opportunity and position in another community. But as is true with most teams when one player leaves it’s the next player up. We are fortunate to have a great next up in Sharon Hooks and very pleased to congratulate and wish her continued success in her newly promoted position of Community Relations Specialist.
If that name sounds familiar it’s because Sharon has been the pleasant voice on the phone when you called the Desert Ridge Community office over the past two years, since joining the Desert Ridge team as our Community Coordinator. Sharon has already made a positive impact organizing community events as evident for those that have attended recent community events from Ladies Night Out, Community Night Out, Movie in the Park, the Holiday Lighting Trolley Tours, Coffee Club and the Farmer’s Market, Sharon has quickly taken to the role of “go to” person for community lifestyles, events and outreach in Desert Ridge. A role she is well prepared to succeed in.
Sharon Hooks started with FirstService Residential in January 2015 in the Accounts Receivable Department, managing community portfolios. In May 2015, Sharon joined Desert Ridge as our Community Coordinator providing a multitude of administrative, management and lifestyles support services to the community residents, board, staff and committee members.
In addition to taking on the expanded role of Community Relations Specialist, Sharon will continue to coordinate social events, Farmers Market, advertising/marketing, community outreach, working on the magazine and will have a pivotal role in the launch of our new and improved Desert Ridge Lifestyles website. It’s a lot of work, but as Sharon exuberantly states “She’s up to the task”.
Sharon and her family relocated to Phoenix from El Paso, Texas in 2000. She began her professional career proudly as “Domestic Goddess” taking care of her husband and children. While still holding that title, Sharon also began working in the community management industry in accounts receivable in 2008. Sharon enjoys quality time with family, volunteer service to community, cultural activities, and skydiving.
So, next time you come out to a community event or contact the Desert Ridge Community Association office with a question about events, introduce yourself to Sharon. She can’t wait to meet you.
